One thing people may not realize about Christ’s Body Ministries is how many young adults regularly volunteer here.

Every week, young people help serve breakfast at Daily Bread, sort clothing donations, pray with guests, help at outreach events, and spend time serving people in practical ways throughout Denver. Some come with churches or groups, while others simply sign up on their own because they want to help make a difference in the city.

Last Friday morning, Julia was helping prepare for our weekly pancake and sausage breakfast by filling syrup containers for the breakfast line. It may not seem like a big task, but those small things help everything run smoothly for the hundreds of people we serve each week during Daily Bread.

Julia has become one of our regular Friday volunteers and often helps serve meals during breakfast. When I asked her how she first found Christ’s Body Ministries, she said she was attending a yoga class next door and noticed people outside laughing, hugging, and talking together. She later looked up the ministry online and signed up to volunteer.

She also shared that one of her favorite parts about serving here is how kind and thankful people are. That’s something many volunteers experience after coming for the first time. They realize this ministry is not just about serving meals. It’s about building relationships and treating people with dignity and care.

On another day, Emma was serving with us during one of our street outreaches in Denver. She shared how much she loves coming out to serve alongside Christ’s Body Ministries and help meet both physical and spiritual needs for people on the streets.

Volunteers like Julia and Emma are an important part of what makes this ministry possible. Every day, people from different backgrounds and different generations come together to help serve meals, hand out clothing, pray with guests, clean spaces, organize donations, and support outreach efforts across the city.

We’re incredibly grateful for the younger generation that continues showing up faithfully to serve others in practical and meaningful ways.
