Every Saturday, our team from Christ’s Body Ministries drives out to the 48th Street location — a stretch of concrete and warehouses that feels forgotten by the rest of Denver. It’s desolate, industrial, and heavy with the kind of darkness that comes when people have been hurting for a long time.
But today, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, this place looks different.
We’re here preparing to serve 400 Thanksgiving meals — smoked turkey, warm sides, and moments of prayer that remind people they’re still seen and loved. And while today’s feast is special, the truth is this: the need here never stops. Every weekend, people line up hungry, cold, exhausted, and hoping for someone who cares.
That’s why we come.
That’s why we serve.
That’s why we pray.
But we can’t do it alone.
We need volunteers — people willing to jump in, get their hands a little dirty, and shine the light of Jesus in a part of our city that desperately needs hope. We need help loading and unloading vans. We need help serving food. We need men and women willing to sit with someone, listen to their story, and pray with them right where they are.
There are so many jobs.
So many places to serve.
And so many souls waiting for someone to show up.
If your heart is stirred, we’d love to have you join us. Come make a difference. Come pray with us. Come be the light in a place that desperately needs it.
