When the Church Shows Up, the Streets Change

250 people, One unforgettable Saturday, and What God Did on the Streets of Denver This Last Saturday

This past Saturday, we had one of those days you don’t forget.

We were out at 48th and Colorado, right here in Denver, doing what we do every week, showing up, feeding people, loving on our neighbors, and being present in a place where a lot of people have been overlooked. But this time, something was different. Something bigger was happening.

We were joined by Prestonwood Baptist Church out of Dallas, Texas. About 100 young people came out to serve alongside us. They didn’t stay comfortable, they didn’t stay back home, they came straight into the streets. They showed up ready to serve, ready to give, ready to be part of what God is doing out here.

And you could feel it.

We fed over 250 people that day. Meals were going out, clothes were being handed out, Bibles were being given away, and conversations were happening all over the place. Real conversations. Not surface-level, but the kind where people are seen, heard, and reminded that they matter.

The choir from Prestonwood began to sing, and something shifted. Right there in the middle of the parking lot, in the middle of everything going on, you could feel the presence of God moving. People stopped. They listened. Some joined in. Others just stood there, taking it in.

Because when people encounter the presence of Jesus, everything changes.

That’s not just something we say. We see it.

We saw it in the way people responded. We saw it in the way volunteers leaned in. We saw it in the boldness of young people stepping into something bigger than themselves. And we saw it in the moments where prayer happened, where people were invited into something deeper, into a real relationship with Jesus.

This is what happens when the Church shows up.

Not just in a building. Not just on a Sunday morning. But out here, where the need is real and the people are right in front of you.

I want to say this clearly. If you’ve ever thought about coming out, if you’ve ever felt that nudge, you need to listen to it. You need to come see this for yourself. Because God doesn’t just work through people like us, He works through anyone willing to step in.

We would love to have you join us one of these Saturdays.

Come out. Serve. Pray. Be part of what God is doing.

Because out here, lives are being touched, people are being fed, and the presence of Jesus is changing everything.
