Last week, as we gathered to pray and serve in the alley, there was a weight in the air. We knew of the horrendous murder of Charlie Kirk—shot while speaking at Utah Valley University. Families are in grief. The nation is reeling. Hearts are heavy, especially those who walk with Christ and believe in peace over violence.
At our outreach, I lifted a prayer. I asked God to wrap His arms around Charlie’s family—that Charlie is now in His everlasting presence. I prayed for protection over our team, over the Dream Center, over every volunteer, every person doing simple acts of kindness in the street. Because when evil shakes us, service anchors us. I asked for new life in people’s hearts. For hope to rise where sorrow lingers.
Christ’s Body Ministries isn’t sheltered from the world’s grief, but we refuse to let it paralyze us. We respond with meals, with presence, with prayers, with tenderness. When fear summons us to hide, we step into the alley. When outrage hollows us out, we show up with compassion. Because love is louder than violence.
If you feel moved—donate, volunteer, pray with us. Let’s be hands and feet in a world that needs healing. Together, we can be part of forging peace when the world fractures.
