18 Aug We’re Halfway There: Help Us Raise the Final $13,000
Hi, everyone. Dr. Jim Copeland here.
Last week, I stood on the roof of Christ’s Body Ministries beside the broken heating and air-conditioning unit that serves our day shelter. I shared that replacing the unit would cost approximately $26,000 and that we needed help meeting this unexpected expense.
You responded.
Because of your generosity, we have already received $13,000 toward the replacement. That means we are halfway there, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has prayed, given and shared this need with others.
But right now, there is still no cool air blowing into our day shelter. This is the room where we welcome people experiencing homelessness each morning, serve breakfast, provide clothing and showers, offer pastoral care and create a place where people can come inside and be treated with dignity. We still need to raise the remaining $13,000 to replace the unit and get the air working again.
This is not a simple repair. The old rooftop unit must be removed by crane, and the new one must be lifted onto the building and installed. It is an expensive project, but it is also something we cannot put off. The room is hot now, and winter will be here before we know it. This same unit that cools the day shelter also provides the heat we will need during the cold Colorado months.
Would you pray about helping us get over the hump?
Maybe you can give $50, $100, $500 or $1,000. Perhaps your church, business or family can make a larger gift toward the remaining cost. Every gift will move us closer to replacing this unit and restoring dependable heating and cooling to the room where so much of our daily ministry happens.
God is doing something incredible at Christ’s Body Ministries, and your response to this need has already been a tremendous encouragement. We have made it halfway because people like you stepped forward. Now I am asking you to help us finish.
Please consider making a special financial gift today toward the final $13,000 needed to replace the day shelter’s rooftop unit. Together, we can get the air back on and make sure this room is ready for both the heat of today and the winter that is coming.
Thank you for praying, giving and standing with Christ’s Body Ministries.
God bless,
Dr. Jim Copeland
Executive Director
Christ’s Body Ministries
P.S. We have raised $13,000 of the $26,000 needed to replace the broken rooftop unit. Please help us raise the remaining $13,000 and get dependable cooling and heat restored to our day shelter.
