Two interns. One morning. A lot of love.

This summer, Maggie and Isabelle, two interns from Notre Dame, spent part of their time serving at Christ’s Body Ministries. Like many of our volunteers, they stepped into the quiet, early rhythm of Daily Bread before most of the city had fully started its day.

Their mornings began around 6:30 AM, helping set up, prepare food, and get the building ready to welcome guests. Then from 7 to 9, they served breakfast, greeted people, and helped create the kind of morning we pray every guest experiences here: warm, steady, respectful, and filled with the love of Christ.

For Maggie and Isabelle, serving at Christ’s Body was not just about handing out food. It was about seeing the work behind the work. They saw the kitchen, the preparation, the volunteers, and the care that goes into making sure people are fed well. They saw how much love is put into something as simple as breakfast.

That is what happens here every morning. A meal becomes more than a meal. A greeting becomes more than a greeting. A few hours of volunteer service becomes part of a larger ministry of dignity, consistency, and hope.

We are grateful for Maggie and Isabelle, and for every volunteer who gives their time to serve our neighbors in downtown Denver. Daily Bread depends on people who are willing to show up, step in, and serve with compassion.

You do not have to be an intern to make a difference. You do not need special experience. You just need a willing heart and a morning to give.

Come serve with us.
