I was talking with Aaron recently. He and his wife Debra have been coming down from Authentic Life Church for the last six or seven months, serving consistently with us. Every other week, you’ll find them here praying with people, having conversations, and just being present with those who don’t always get that kind of attention.

The way he described it stuck with me. He said it’s about making sure people are seen.

Not fixing everything. Not having all the answers. Just showing up and making sure someone knows they matter.

That’s what I see happen when churches come down here together. Something shifts. It’s not just individuals serving anymore. It’s a group moving with purpose. One person handing out food, another helping with clothing, someone else praying, someone just sitting and listening. And together, it starts to look like what the Body of Christ is actually meant to be.

Aaron also shared how this hasn’t just impacted the people we serve. It’s impacted him, his wife, and their church. That’s the part people don’t always expect. When you step into this kind of work, it changes you. It reshapes how you see people. It deepens your faith. It pulls what you believe out of theory and into something real.

And when a church experiences that together, it doesn’t stay here. It carries back into the life of the church.

We have opportunities all throughout the week. Daily Bread runs Monday through Friday from 7 to 9 in the morning. On Fridays, we do a pancake breakfast and gather for church. We’re in shelters, on the streets, and all across the city.

Not just to visit, but to engage in something consistent and meaningful. Something that actually makes a difference.
