09 Sep They Gave Us 2 Years… Rent Free!
Hi, everyone. Dr. Jim Copeland here.
I recently had the opportunity to stand inside Giving Heart Englewood, the new second location of Christ’s Body Ministries. Behind me was the day room where meals are served. Nearby are the resource center, showers and laundry facilities. This building has already been a place of care and hope in the Englewood community, and we feel incredibly blessed to help carry that work forward.
We truly believe this opportunity is a gift from God. The owner has generously offered us the building rent-free for two years while also giving us the opportunity to purchase it. That provides us with time to launch a capital campaign, raise the necessary funds and secure a permanent future for Giving Heart Englewood.
With that opportunity comes an immediate challenge. We need $36,000 to move forward—$6,000 for the lease deposit and $30,000 in earnest money toward purchasing the building. Through the generosity of people who believe in this ministry, we have already raised $15,000 toward the earnest money. We are halfway there on that portion, but we still need help raising the remaining funds.
This is about much more than securing a building. It is about preserving a place that has already meant so much to Englewood and building upon the relationships Giving Heart has established with its volunteers, donors, churches and neighbors. We are excited to bring our teams together, honor what has already been built and share a vision for serving even more people in the years ahead.
I would love for you to see it for yourself. Please join us for our Open House on Wednesday, September 16, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Giving Heart Englewood, 4358 S. Broadway. You can tour the facility, meet the teams and hear more about where we believe God is leading this ministry.
Would you also pray about what you might do to help us secure this building? Every gift moves us closer to making Giving Heart Englewood a permanent place of hope, dignity and practical care for this community.
Thank you for praying, giving and walking alongside us as this new chapter begins.
God bless,
Dr. Jim Copeland
