Hi friends,

This morning, I stood in our alleyway watching a line of over 100 people stretch down the block—waiting for breakfast, for showers, for clothing, for care. We call this ministry Daily Bread, and every weekday morning it’s one of the most sacred spaces in Denver. It’s where the broken and the beloved meet Jesus through a hot meal, a clean shirt, and a few moments of dignity.

But I’ll be honest—the needs are growing, and so is our need for you.

We need volunteers to help us manage the alleyway where our guests wait to enter. Our neighbors are kind, but the crowd can easily spill into their space—and we want to respect their homes. That’s why we’re calling for people who can help with gentle crowd control, safety, and a visible presence of care and calm.

We also need morning hosts—volunteers to help welcome people in, sign them up for services, and make sure they feel seen before they ever get a plate of food. It’s a simple but powerful role. You don’t need to have all the answers. You just need to show up with a heart to serve.

If you’ve been thinking about volunteering—now is the time. These early morning hours aren’t glamorous, but they are holy. You’ll meet Jesus here in the eyes of the hungry and the hands of the volunteers beside you.

We love serving the least of these. And we love doing it with you.

Hope to see you in the alley soon,
