Show & Tell - Taking the Closet to the Streets
Hey friends—it’s Paul Gonzales here, Outreach Director at Christ’s Body Ministries, and I want to give you a quick “show and tell” straight from the heart of our street ministry.
What you’re looking at here isn’t just a trailer—it’s a mobile clothing closet, packed and ready to meet people right where they are. This is Christ’s Body’s Clothing Trailer, and it’s one of the most hands-on, hope-filled tools we’ve got in the fight against homelessness in Denver.
Every week, we take this trailer out into the streets—under bridges, into alleyways, around tent encampments—wherever the need is. And we open the doors wide.
Inside? We’ve got:
-
Men’s and women’s clothing,
-
Shoes of all sizes,
-
Sleeping bags for the cold nights,
-
Hygiene kits for basic dignity,
-
And always—a warm welcome.
Our volunteers help sort everything by size and category so it’s ready to go when someone says, “Do you have a large coat?” or “Any socks today?” It’s not just about giving clothes—it’s about restoring dignity. It’s about saying to someone who feels invisible: “We see you. And we care.”
But here’s the real truth—this trailer doesn’t run on wheels alone.
It runs on people. On volunteers. On you.
Without the faithful folks who donate, drive, sort, serve, and pray—none of this happens. Every shirt handed out, every pair of shoes that finds a new home, every smile we see when someone finds a clean hoodie—that’s all because of you.
So here’s my ask:
Will you join us?
We need more hands. We need more churches. We need more hearts willing to step out of comfort zones and into the streets.
Come serve with us. Come load the trailer. Come see Jesus move in the middle of the city.
Because the Kingdom of God doesn’t just live in pews—it lives in the parking lots, sidewalks, and shelters of this city.
Let’s keep taking the closet to the streets—and the love of Christ to those who need it most.
Thank you for every shirt, every sock, every second you give.
We love you. We’re grateful. And we’re just getting started.
In service,
Paul Gonzales
Director of Outreach
