01 Oct Rex came as a favor. He left a supporter.
Another fundraising dinner? You might already be thinking about the food, the long program, or an evening spent making small talk with strangers. And somewhere in there, someone is going to ask you for money.
Rex Brandt understands. When Luke invited him to Christ’s Body Ministries’ annual fundraiser last year, he wasn’t exactly counting down the days.
“I was dreading it, to be honest with you,” Rex admits. Having pastored for more than two decades, he had attended plenty of fundraisers. He agreed to come because of his friendship with Luke.
What happened that evening changed his perspective.
“But is the food actually good?”
We know. A dinner invitation doesn’t always promise a memorable meal. But Rex didn’t leave this part out of his review: “The food was excellent.”
For him, that detail was part of something bigger. He felt that the evening had been prepared with care and respect for the people attending.
“Will it take up my whole evening?”
Your time matters. Rex specifically noticed that.
“I felt like Christ’s Body honored my time,” he says. That’s the kind of experience we want our guests to have: an evening worth making room for.
“What if I don’t know anyone?”
Rex found himself sitting with interesting people and enjoying the chance to connect. This year, you can bring your own friends, too. Tickets are free, and hosting a table means gathering a group of 10 to share the evening together. You don’t have to sponsor a table to host one.
“Will my support really make a difference?”
What stayed with Rex most were the people and their stories of changed lives. He arrived knowing little about Christ’s Body. He left inspired to become a monthly supporter.
His decision was personal. Your invitation is simply to come, hear the stories, and see the ministry for yourself.
Join us October 30 at Infinity Park Event Center for our Annual Dinner & Concert, featuring MountainCity. Reserve your free tickets, host a table of 10, or sponsor a table for $1,500. Sponsorships help cover event expenses in advance, with the goal of directing every dollar raised that evening toward our mission.
Rex is coming back. We hope you’ll join him.
