Our Men’s Ministry Is Bringing Baptisms to the South Platte

One of the greatest blessings of serving at Christ’s Body Ministries is seeing the Lord work through the people who gather here. In our day shelter, on outreach, and around the table during Bible study, we have opportunities to share His Word and care for one another. Lately, I’ve been especially excited about what’s happening in our Men’s Roundtable. As we grow in our faith together, the men are taking the lead on something we’re looking forward to sharing with our community: public baptisms in the South Platte River in downtown Denver.

These upcoming baptisms are an opportunity to bring the message of Jesus beyond our walls and welcome people who may not feel they have a place in a church. Many of the neighbors we serve know what it feels like to be overlooked or pushed aside. We want them to know that they are seen, that they are loved, and that the invitation to follow Christ is for them, too. Our hope is that those who are ready to be baptized will find encouragement and a community willing to stand beside them as they take that step.

Baptism is a public expression of faith in Jesus Christ. There is something especially meaningful about making that declaration in the heart of the city, surrounded by people who are there to support you. For someone who has often felt alone, having others gather to celebrate their faith can mean a great deal. We’re looking forward to coming together at the river, praying with our neighbors, and celebrating those choosing to follow Jesus.

What encourages me most is that our Men’s Roundtable is helping lead this effort. When we gather, we study Scripture, talk about what we’re learning, and love one another through the things we’re facing. We’re also learning that following Jesus calls us to love our neighbors. The baptisms are a chance to put that into practice, taking what we share around the table out into the community.

I’d love for you to be part of this. Whether you’re considering baptism or want to come alongside those taking that step, we invite you to join us. Please pray for the people who will come, for the men helping lead, and for opportunities to share the love of Christ with those who need encouragement.

Thank you for supporting this ministry and the people we serve. I’m grateful for what the Lord is doing here, and I’m excited to see where He leads us next.
