People often come to Christ’s Body Ministries thinking they are here to help someone else.

What they quickly discover is that they become part of something.

Volunteering here is not about checking a box or filling a role. It is about belonging. It is about standing shoulder to shoulder with people from every background and realizing that we are all in this together.

Every morning, you can feel it when you walk through our doors. There is laughter in the kitchen. Conversation in the hallways. Prayer whispered over coffee. Hope moving quietly from person to person. What starts as a simple act of service becomes a shared life.

One of our volunteers, Carl, serves breakfast and greets our guests each morning. He says he comes back because Jesus is glorified here. He is meeting physical needs, but he is also sharing hope. He is building relationships.

Another volunteer shared, “It blesses me every day I come in here.” Others say they come for the fellowship, for the stories, for the sense of connection with both staff and guests. Many tell us they get just as much out of serving as they give.

That is because community changes us.

Here, people are not defined by what they lack or where they have been. They are known by their names, their stories, and their worth. Volunteers and guests serve and support one another. Walls come down. Trust grows. And something deeper than service begins to form.

One volunteer said, “It helps me understand life better.” Another said, “It makes me realize we all need help.” These are not small truths. They are the foundation of real community.

This is what makes Christ’s Body Ministries different.
