November has flown by with so much work getting done by big groups wanting to to big things to help the people on the street. What a blessing!
We had thirty folks from In and Out Burger come in and spend half a day with us to get things done. Half of them went out on the street to serve food, hand out clothing and talk with people. The other half stayed at 850 Lincoln and helped roll burritos and processed clothing donations. By the way, these guys rolled the most burritos to date, finishing at 812 burritos!
A week later, we had 13 men from the Valiant Recovery progam, one of our esteemed partners, come in and work for five hours! They did a lot of great work as well. Food prep for burritos, lots of clothes were processed to get ready to go on the street and some of the guys went out with Paul on the street to serve. Two of the Valiant volunteers went with staff to pick up donations from Beth Eden school who had done a clothing and food drive for us. We filled up one of our vans, which left little space to sit after it was loaded. Way to go Beth Eden.
All this prep work helped to equip a huge outreach team that went out last Saturday to serve hundreds of people in Denver. A church group is cooking up Thanksgiving that will go out on Wednesday snow or shine! It is amazing how God lines up his people to accomplish his purposes out on the street.
