Grace Chapel + Christ’s Body: Tangible Gospel Work in the City
One of the greatest joys of my role at Christ’s Body Ministries is seeing the Body of Christ come together—churches locking arms and stepping into the streets with us to love people in Jesus’ name. Recently, I had the privilege of serving alongside Pastor Steven and the team from Grace Chapel, a church that has been faithfully partnering with us for over ten years.
What struck me that morning wasn’t just the number of people we served—it was the heart behind it. The line for breakfast burritos and drinks stretched down the block, and even after serving hundreds, the gratitude and hope in people’s eyes remained. This wasn’t just food—it was the gospel served hot, wrapped in love, and given freely.
Grace Chapel also brought their clothing trailer—men’s and women’s clothing, shoes, hats, and warm items that can mean the difference between comfort and survival on the streets. At one point, I watched someone take the shoes off their very own feet to give them to another person in need. That moment hit me deeply. That’s the gospel lived out—sacrificial, tangible love.
And that’s what partnership looks like. When churches come alongside us, lives are touched in ways no single organization could accomplish alone. People leave not only fed and clothed but also seen, prayed for, and reminded that Jesus loves them. Many even take steps of faith, choosing to follow Christ as Lord and Savior.
At Christ’s Body, this is what we’re about: meeting practical needs and pointing people to the One who can meet their deepest need. But we can’t do it without the church. The gospel was never meant to be lived out in isolation—it takes the whole Body working together.
That’s why I’m grateful for Grace Chapel and every church that has stepped into the alley, the dining room, and the clothing trailer with us. Many hands really do make light work, and when those hands are guided by the Spirit of God, lives change.
If your church hasn’t partnered with us yet, I want to invite you in. Bring a team, bring your gifts, bring your prayers—and let’s see what God will do when we step out together.
