When I visit Christ’s Body Ministries at 850 Lincoln Street, I am always grateful for what I see God doing through this ministry.

Every morning, men and women experiencing homelessness come through our doors for breakfast, encouragement, and practical assistance. Christ’s Body Ministries serves approximately 3,000 meals each week, but the ministry is about much more than the number of plates leaving the kitchen.

Each meal represents a person who deserves to be welcomed, treated with dignity, and reminded that he or she is seen and loved by God.

A Ministry Made Possible Through Partnership

None of this work happens alone.

Our food pantry is stocked through the generosity of businesses, churches, food partners, and individuals throughout our community. Clothing donations help us provide clean shirts, pants, jackets, socks, underwear, and other necessities to people who may have very little of their own.

Volunteers prepare food, serve meals, organize clothing, clean the building, pray with guests, and help create an environment where people feel safe and respected. Financial partners help cover the many expenses required to operate a ministry of this size throughout the year.

Every gift has a place here. Every volunteer matters. Every prayer helps sustain the work.

Caring for the Place Where Ministry Happens

Our building has served this community for many years, and it requires ongoing care. There are repairs to make, equipment to replace, systems to update, and daily operating costs to cover.

These expenses may not always be the most visible part of ministry, but they make the visible ministry possible. A functioning kitchen allows us to prepare meals. A safe and dependable building gives our guests somewhere to come in from the street. Working equipment helps our staff and volunteers serve people effectively.

When you give financially, you are helping us care for the place where thousands of meals are served and countless conversations, prayers, and acts of compassion take place.
