Christ’s Body Ministries is very pleased to be approved by The Colorado Department of Revenue in 2025 for Colorado’s Homeless Contribution Tax Credit (HCTC).

The Colorado Homeless Contribution Income Tax Credit (HCTC) provides a state income tax credit to Colorado taxpayers who contribute to eligible homelessness-related projects within Colorado. The HCTC is available for all General Donations to Christ’s Body Ministries starting on January 1, 2025.

How can you or your organization opt into receiving the HCTC through Christ’s Body Ministries?

First, tell us you want the HCTC tax credit.

  • If you have already donated in 2025, those donation amounts will be automatically added towards your HCTC qualifying minimum cumulative annual donations of $1,000 by December 31, 2025. (More on this below.)
  • If you donate by check, please add HCTC to the memo line of your check.
  • If you donate online through this website, write “HCTC” in the donor comments section.

Participation in the HCTC is optional for all donor’s who meet the minimum annual donation amount.

Either by check or online you also must call us at (303) 860-1272 to provide one of the following:

  • Federal Employer Tax Identification Number (FEIN), for organizations.
  • Or the only the Last Four Digits of a Social Security Number (SSN). This is a State requirement for the HCTC program to make certain that only you receive the tax credits you have qualified for, through Christ’s Body Ministries. The last four digits of your SSN will be shown on your official Tax Credit Certificate issued by the State of Colorado.

Please Do NOT include your full SSN in any correspondence with Christ’s Body Ministries.  We will never ask for your full SSN. Please call us at (303) 860-1272 anytime between 9 AM and 3 PM, Monday through Friday, to provide only the last four digits securely by phone.

What is the 2025 minimum annual donation amount for donors to qualify for Christ’s Body Ministries’ HCTC?

  • Monetary/Cash: $1,000
    • Cash gifts of $1,000 or more will qualify for HCTC, including annualized cumulative gifts that total $1,000 or more by the end of the tax year.
    • Example: $100 per month will accumulate and qualify to reach the minimum $1,000 after 10 months.
  • In-Kind Gifts must be appraised at over $5,000 by Christ’s Body Ministries.

How much is your project’s tax credit amount?

25% of your qualifying donations. Example: The $1,000 minimum donation will generate a $250 Colorado Tax Credit and a $10,000 total will generate a $2,500 Colorado Tax Credit.

When will a donor receive their certificate?

  • Annually: All annual certificates will be distributed by the State of Colorado Department of Revenue between February 1st – 15th following the calendar tax year.
  • Tax ID requirements to receive the tax credit include:
  • Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN): only last four digits
  • Federal Employee Identification Number (FEIN): full nine digits
  • You MUST file your Colorado Tax Return electronically with the Colorado Department of Revenue.

How are tax credit certificates distributed?

  • Via secure email
  • Via postal mail

What qualifies as an in-kind donation? In-kind contributions can include a contribution of property, services, stocks, bond, or other intangible property.

What other personal information may be required?

  • First and last name as it appears on your tax return
  • Taxpayer ID: SSN or ITIN (for individual household’s contributions) or FEIN (if

contributing from a business)

  • Street address
  • E-mail (required for secure email access to certificate but optional if the nonprofit

issues the certificate via postal mail)
