An Urgent Need: Help Us Replace Our Broken AC Unit

If you saw my latest video, you probably noticed I was standing somewhere a little unusual: on the roof of Christ’s Body Ministries.

I was up there because one of the two major heating and air-conditioning units serving our building has stopped working. This particular unit serves our day room, the place where every morning we welcome men and women experiencing homelessness and serve breakfast. It has already been down for more than a week, and during the heat of summer, that room has been getting incredibly hot.

We have had professionals come out to look at the system, and unfortunately, this is not a simple repair. The unit needs to be replaced. Because of its location on the roof, that means bringing in a crane to remove the old system and install a new one. The bids we have received are between $23,000 and $28,000.

That is an unexpected expense we simply do not have sitting in the budget.

In my three years serving as CEO of Christ’s Body Ministries, I don’t think I have ever made an appeal quite like this. This is an emergency, and we need your help. We need to get the day room cooled while we are still in the heat of summer, but this same system also provides heat. Colorado winter will be here before we know it.

Would you prayerfully consider helping us replace this unit?

Maybe you or your business could make a significant gift toward the entire project. Maybe you can give $1,000, $500, $100, or simply do a little extra beyond what you already faithfully give. Every gift will help us get closer to putting a working system back on that roof.

This isn’t the kind of expense anyone gets excited about, but it keeps the place where we serve people every day safe and comfortable. Our day room is where meals are shared, relationships begin, prayers are offered, and people who have spent hours outside can come through our doors and find a place of refuge.

Thank you for standing with Christ’s Body Ministries and for all you already do. Please pray for this need, and if God puts it on your heart, help us get this unit replaced as quickly as possible.
