An Opportunity to Expand the Reach of Christ’s Body Ministries

Christ’s Body Ministries has been presented with an incredible opportunity to help continue a ministry that has faithfully served the Englewood community for more than 15 years. Giving Heart has operated as a day shelter where people in need can find showers, laundry, a welcoming day room, and other practical services and support. After Giving Heart’s founder, Donna, recently retired and moved out of state, their board approached Christ’s Body Ministries about the possibility of carrying the ministry forward.

Over the past several months, our leadership has been doing the due diligence necessary to explore what that could look like. An MOU has now been developed between the two boards as we work through the possibility of Christ’s Body taking over operations. Our desire is not to come in and change what Giving Heart has built. We want to preserve the Giving Heart name and continue the good work that has already been happening in Englewood for many years.

One of the biggest pieces still ahead of us is the building itself. The property owner, a committed follower of Christ who has generously supported Giving Heart through an affordable arrangement, is giving us an opportunity to purchase the facility. To move forward, we will need to raise earnest money, with the exact amount still being determined.

For now, we are asking our Christ’s Body family to pray with us. Pray for wisdom for both boards, for the resources necessary to secure the building, and for God to make His direction clear. Our hope is to keep Giving Heart serving Englewood while continuing the work God has entrusted to us at 850 Lincoln and through our mobile outreach throughout the Denver area.

There are still details to work through, and we will keep you updated as this opportunity develops. We are excited about what God may be putting together and grateful to everyone who continues to pray, give, volunteer, and stand alongside Christ’s Body Ministries as we seek to serve wherever He opens the door.
