As you know, one thing that we can encounter on our outreaches is men who have been released from incarceration that very day.  We’re given an opportunity to hear their story and connect with them. Sometimes these encounters offer space for a prayer, a word of encouragement, or a moment to shoulder up with someone as they seek out life giving resources.

But did you know that we provide home-made sack lunches to the department of corrections several times a week too? So whether or not our outreach teams get to encounter someone remerging into the community from incarceration, our sack lunches sure do!  And the greatest part is – each lunch contains a homemade deli sandwich, fruit, a schedule of our services and a bible verse. A warm introduction if you will  –  “Need someone to talk to?  Swing by our daily bread breakfast any weekday, we’re here!”

It’s a blessing to be able to use the little things to point to the hope we have in Jesus.

Thank you volunteers and donors for supporting these little things , like sack lunches, that we do too!
