A Small Apartment, A Bigger Story

The Blessing Keeps Moving

I want to share something beautiful that happened here at Christ’s Body.

We were just wrapping up one group during Daily Bread and getting ready to bring in another. That is how a lot of mornings feel around here. People coming in, people being served, volunteers moving around, coffee being poured, breakfast being handed out, and God quietly doing what He does.

A little while ago, a woman came in who we had been able to help with some furniture. She was grateful. But she told us her place was small, and she really did not need very much. Then she said something that blessed me.

She asked if the extra furniture could go to her neighbors.

She said they did not have anything. No furniture at all. And instead of just thinking about what she had received, she was already thinking about who else could be helped.

That is one of the blessings we get to see at Christ’s Body. People come here with real needs. They need food, clothing, showers, prayer, furniture, encouragement, and someone to walk alongside them. And by God’s grace, many of those needs are met here day after day.

But sometimes the blessing does not stop with them.

Sometimes someone receives help, and then they turn around and want to help someone else. Someone who came in needing a blessing becomes a blessing to their neighbor. That is what we are seeing. The blessing is being passed on, and then passed on again.

To me, that is a picture of what God is doing through this ministry. It is not just about one meal, one shower, one coat, or one piece of furniture. Those things matter, and they matter deeply. But behind those practical needs, God is restoring dignity. He is rebuilding hope. He is reminding people that they are seen, loved, and still have something to give.

So I just want to say thank you.

Thank you for praying for us. Thank you for giving. Thank you for volunteering. Thank you for helping make Christ’s Body happen day after day after day.

Lives are being changed here. And not only the lives of the people who walk through our doors. Some of them are now going back out and blessing others because they were first blessed here.

That is because of people like you.

God bless you, and thank you for all you do.
