When Plum Creek Church Hit the Streets with Christ’s Body Ministries
We’re grateful to host churches like Plum Creek Church from Castle Rock, whose staff spent a day with us at Christ’s Body Ministries volunteering on the ground. I want to share a taste of what they experienced, and extend an invitation to your congregation to join us.
Ryanne Witt from Plum Creek said it best:
“Today we’re making burritos… we’ve just hit 300 burritos and we’ve got a team outside on the street doing outreach—feeding people, handing out clothes, praying with them, talking with them. We’re excited to be here and help and see all the things that Christ’s Body is doing, and honored that we get to be a part of it.”
Imagine that—from kitchen to sidewalk, from food line to clothing trailer—this church stepped into the margins of Denver and served. They didn’t stay safe. They didn’t stay comfortable. They came and did ministry in the alley. They came and met the people in their brokenness, and loved them with practical hands and a gospel heart.
When a church volunteer hands someone a burrito, offers a warm coat, or simply stops and prays, something happens. The walls come down. A human being sees that they matter. And the gospel—for real—moves from Sunday sermon into street-level hope.
If your church is thinking “We want to serve. We want to show up,” then here’s your invitation: join us. Your entire team, a small group, a youth group, a mission team—bring them to 850 Lincoln St., Denver. Serve a meal. Lead an outreach. Host a clothing drive. Partner in discipleship.
God is doing something here. He’s building a movement of churches locking arms in the city, not just for one day, but for every day. Churches that don’t just believe the gospel—they live it.

Let’s see what happens when the Church shows up in the streets with the same love that carried Jesus to the cross.
Come. Serve. Love. Transform.
