HISTORY & MILESTONES

Serving Denver since 1990. Still showing up.

For more than three decades, Christ’s Body Ministries has shared the love of Jesus through practical care and relationships with our neighbors. The work continues, and you can be part of what comes next.

A legacy of practical care

Over one million meals served.

Since 1990, across the ministry of Christ’s Body.

What began as a simple, heartfelt response to local hunger has grown into a cornerstone of our daily ministry. Every morning, our community gathers to prepare fresh, nourishing meals, ensuring that anyone walking through our doors receives more than just sustenance—they receive a warm seat, absolute respect, and a place to belong.

This milestone belongs entirely to our tireless volunteers and generous supporters who embody practical love day in and day out. As we look to the future, our commitment remains unshaken: to feed the hungry, comfort the weary, and share the hope that sustains us all.

Our calling is personal.

To share Christ's love, serve and care for the least of these.

Our ministry is rooted in a profound faith that guides every action. We believe that true service is personal, relational, and transformative. By walking alongside those facing homelessness, sharing warm meals, and offering unconditional support, we live out the Gospel in daily practice—restoring hope and dignity to every individual we meet.

OUR FAITHFUL JOURNEY

Milestones along the way

From our small kitchen basement in 1990 to active community-wide outreach today, God has guided CBM every step of the way. Explore the defining moments of our history.

1990

The Humble Seed

Christian Community Ministries was planted in a cozy church basement, focused simply on serving warm, home-cooked meals to 15 homeless neighbors each week.

1999

Incorporation & Expansion

As outreach calls steadily grew, we officially incorporated as a 501(c)(3) ministry. This transition enabled us to form lasting relationships with regional churches and acquire our very first delivery van.

2000

A New Millennium

We entered the 2000s with a focus on sustainable impact, creating specialized home repair programs for senior citizens and establishing structured spiritual mentorship groups.

2010-2021

The Lincoln Era

We successfully purchased and dedicated the historical building at 850 Lincoln. This permanent facility quickly became the beating heart of our operations, hosting transitional apartments, prayer rooms, and a distribution center.

2017

Grace Cafe Launched

We opened 'Grace Cafe,' an innovative community dining space designed to combat food insecurity and foster deep relationships. It became a hub of Christian warmth and nutritional support.

Jan 2022

Post-Pandemic Pivot

Reacting quickly to post-pandemic challenges, we mobilized specialized mobile medical and counseling units, going directly to street corners to serve those who couldn't reach us.

2024-2025

Next-Gen Mentorship

We launched our formal faith-based recovery pathways and life-skills academy, matching community leaders 1-on-1 with program participants for real, generational growth.

Today

An Unbroken Legacy

Through God's grace, CBM now feeds thousands, houses hundreds annually, and continues to be a trusted refuge of Christian love, physical recovery, and spiritual healing.
